Petition updateRailway Line North of Armidale under threat from two Councils in New EnglandBuild Bike Path to Somewhere worth Visiting

There's no point building a rail trail on or beside the current easement. Why do it? They build them in cities because millions of people commute. That's never going to happen up here.

Wouldn't it make more sense to build a bike path to somewhere worth visiting? A National Park where you could camp or along some of the rolling back roads around the Tablelands visiting villages, heritage or indigenous sites. There's no purpose building a 300km long bike path that just leads to another town. Thats what transport is for. Recreational bike riders like to get off the beaten track and enjoy flat rolling roads, not confronting Black Mountain and Ben Lomond.
