Important to Act Now

 The plan being developed by SRITP team in Transport NSW for New England Northwest is for the next 20 years. Once finalised investment decisions of NSW govt will be determined on the basis of priorities identified in the plan. When you send your concerns and suggestions keep this in mind. It is not about a bus here and there. It is about what transport infrastructure is needed for our region for next 20 years to move forward and develop our communities,housing,education,health and recreational facilities while having access to services. 

The next step is for the SRITP team to release a draft plan for further stakeholder consultations. Extension of train services beyond Armidale may or may not be included. If not included,we can follow the steps that Cesnock to Maitland group adopted. Their proposal was not included in the draft plan. But the community and their councils,MPs,Business organisations got together and lobbied the minister. Now she has agreed to include the proposal in the draft plan for the Hunter.
