Rail Tram and Bus Union of NSW Face Book Post
16th January 2026
The mind baffles. The facts are startling.
The people along the Bankstown Line lost rail services for 2 years.
The people of NSW fork out over $30B (thats $30,000,000,000) for a single new metro.
From Bankstown to Central, commuters save a mere 6 minutes.
From Central to Epping, commuters arrive 3-7 minutes later than the existing train (yes, metro is slower).
How many parts of Sydney or NSW without any train services at all could have received services for that cost?
The answer is a lot of them.
They’ve made this mistake once and they’re doing it twice more (Western Sydney Airport and Metro West).
Time to stop the rort.
