Dear Supporters,

I just finished my first hearing for my appeal against McGill University law school and their refusal to release their race-based applicant and admission data.  Below are 2 outcomes from this hearing:

  1. I will find out on May 15th whether McGill University will be willing to release the grades and LSAT scores for all Indigenous applicants.  If they agree to do this, I will be able to compare the number of Indigenous applicants admitted against the number of Indigenous applicants that should be admitted based on a ranking of all grades and LSAT scores for all applicants regardless of race for the limited number of spots in the law school.
  2. Despite their website saying "While we do not have a separate application stream for Black students, we do have a holistic review process. You are encouraged to self-identify in your Personal Statement." McGill has refused to provide the number of Blacks that applied, that were admitted, as well as their grades and LSAT scores. I will request adjudication and a decision on whether I can get these data.
