Dear Supporters,
I just finished my first hearing for my appeal against McGill University law school and their refusal to release their race-based applicant and admission data. Below are 2 outcomes from this hearing:
- I will find out on May 15th whether McGill University will be willing to release the grades and LSAT scores for all Indigenous applicants. If they agree to do this, I will be able to compare the number of Indigenous applicants admitted against the number of Indigenous applicants that should be admitted based on a ranking of all grades and LSAT scores for all applicants regardless of race for the limited number of spots in the law school.
- Despite their website saying "While we do not have a separate application stream for Black students, we do have a holistic review process. You are encouraged to self-identify in your Personal Statement." McGill has refused to provide the number of Blacks that applied, that were admitted, as well as their grades and LSAT scores. I will request adjudication and a decision on whether I can get these data.
