The Issue

We, the undersigned Quinnipiac University students, value the hardworking dining services staff who prepare our meals, staff Café Q, the Bobcat Den, and other campus eateries every day. These USW (United Steelworkers) members employed by Chartwells are essential to our campus community—they keep us fueled for classes, events, and late-night study sessions.

As contract negotiations approach, we call on Chartwells to reach a fair agreement that includes:
• Living wages that reflect the rising cost of living in Connecticut

• Affordable, quality healthcare benefits

• Stable scheduling and hours to support work-life balance

• Respectful working conditions with no retaliation for union activity

A fair contract means happier, more supported workers → better service, higher morale, and a stronger dining experience for all students. We pay significant meal plan fees and deserve food services run by valued, fairly compensated staff.

We urge:
Chartwells to bargain in good faith and meet these reasonable demands

Quinnipiac administration to encourage a swift, positive resolution that prioritizes worker well-being and campus harmony
Student support shows the Bobcat community stands together.
