It has recently come to our attention the Queen's University Faculty of Education has removed arts concentrations from their teacher education program for the current group of young educators. This action only further reflects the removing/defunding arts from schools across Ontario. There is no excuse for removing all arts concentrations; this only further distances future educators from the arts. By signing this petition, we are challenging the Faculty of Education to support arts in education by providing concentrations that were previously offered to their teacher candidates. Help us to continue to bring arts into Ontario schools, let us not overlook the arts anymore. 

Revision 2021-06-22: For clarity, please note that concentrations DO NOT mean teachable subjects. Concentrations DO NOT mean program tracks (ACE, Outdoor Ed...etc.)  "Concentrations are offered to both Primary-Junior and Intermediate-Senior teacher candidates (Concurrent Education students complete concentration courses in their final year). By combining a Focus course, an Educational Studies course, and the Alternative Practicum, teacher candidates can tailor their program to their interests and form a concentration" (https://educ.queensu.ca/consecutive ).
