Muchas gracias a todos los firmantes por su apoyo y por difundir esta petición.
Quisiéramos que el Gobierno de Canarias note que los abajo firmantes que son residentes de las Islas Canarias, manifiestan a través de esta petición su desacuerdo e indignación por el hecho de que el dinero de sus impuestos se destine a la masacre de animales sanos.
Los firmantes que son visitantes habituales o potenciales de las Islas Canarias también expresan su desacuerdo e indignación con este plan de exterminio. De igual forma, varios manifiestan su desencanto con la idea de visitar las Islas Canarias, no vaya a ser que su aporte para la economía de las islas termine siendo destinado para dichos fines ¡Esto está afectando la imagen de las Islas Canarias como destino turístico!
Todos los firmantes rechazamos el plan de exterminio de gatos asilvestrados y hurones en estas islas.
Rechazamos el uso de trampas no selectivas que ponen en riesgo la integridad física y la vida de todos los animales silvestres.
Rechazamos la crueldad de convertir a gatos y hurones en blanco para cazadores.
Rechazamos terminantemente la eutanasia de animales sanos.
Proponemos la continuación de la aplicación del método CES (Capturar, Esterilizar, Soltar) ¡Ya hay equipos de veterinarios y voluntarios disponibles para ayudar a estos animales!
Apoyamos combinar dicho método con un plan de protección de las colonias de gatos que incluya su control, censo, esterilización y alimentación para que inmediatamente disminuya su necesidad de cazar otras especies de la isla.
¡Que no ocurra más la inmoralidad de decir que con el método CES los animales ''tardan demasiado tiempo en morirse''!
Si existe un desequilibrio lo hemos causado nosotros los seres humanos, no los gatos abandonados y los hurones. La solución no es privarlos cruelmente de su derecho a la vida por un error que ellos no cometieron.
A las entidades animalistas de las Islas: gracias por su lucha y por favor no duden en contactar para ayudar a mantener la petición actualizada con la mejor y más nueva información disponible.

Many thanks to everyone who has signed and shared this petition.
We would like the Canarian Government to notice that all the undersigned residents of the Canary Islands, express through this petition their indignation and disapproval of the fact that their tax money is being allocated to the extermination of healthy animals.
The undersigned who are regular and/or potential visitors of the Canary Islands also express their indignation and disapproval of this extermination plan. Many of them have expressed their disregard for the idea of visiting the Canary Islands. By coming on holidays, their financial contribution to the Islands' economy may end up being allocated to this terrible end. All this is affecting the image of the Canary Islands as a tourist destination!
We all disapprove of the plan to eradicate feral cats and ferrets from these islands.
We condemn the use of non-selective traps which put at risk the life and physical integrity of all wild animals.
We condemn the cruelty of turning cats and ferrets into targets for hunters.
We completely condemn the euthanasia of healthy animals.
We support the use of the CNR method (Capture, Neuter, Release) Teams of vets and volunteers are already available to help!
We support combining this method with a plan for the protection of cats' colonies which may allow to control them, count them, sterilize them and provide them with food so that these animals may immediately see reduced their need for hunting other species of the islands.
The immorality of saying that with the CNR method ''animals take too long to die'' shall never occur again!
If there's an imbalance, it has been caused by us humans, not by abandoned cats and ferrets. To cruelly deprive them of their right to live due to a mistake they didn't even make is not a solution.
