County Legislators:

On Tuesday, August 2nd, you propose to vote on a binding legal agreement with ousted former CEO of FoxNews and accused harasser, Roger Ailes. We tax payers know little about the agreement, yet we will be made financially liable for it for years to come.

This deal has been withheld from public scrutiny. Its full costs, financial risks, and potential liabilities to Putnam County taxpayers is unknown to your constituents.

The agreement also requires that the County name the Philipstown Senior Center after Roger Ailes. Seniors of Putnam County–men and women–will endure the indignity of passing under his name to receive public services.  

Tax payers must have a say in the terms of this agreement. It must be fiscally responsible in the short and long term. The naming of this public facility must respect our seniors, our values, and Putnam County women.

We tax payers demand transparency, responsibility, and integrity from our County Legislature and County Executive. We ask that the Legislature make the agreement with Roger Ailes available for public scrutiny and public comment prior to taking any action.
