Put the U.S. Dollar Back on the Gold Standard

Put the U.S. Dollar Back on the Gold Standard
The Issue
- The U.S. dollar is literally a baseless currency.
- Speculation by the NYSE does not count as a legitimate base.
- Before 1933-1971 (i.e., before the time of the FDR to Nixon Administration), the U.S. dollar and U.S. economy could recover, partly because they were on the gold standard.
- FDR—with the tacit approval and complicity of Congress—began to chip away at the gold standard, and Nixon finished FDR’s abysmal chipping away at it.
- To this day, Congress—which has the Constitutional power of the purse—continues to endanger the U.S. dollar and U.S. economy by failing to rectify what financial havoc it let FDR and Nixon wreak.
We, the petitioners, therefore demand a Congress put the U.S. dollar back on the gold standard
