If you grew up in the early 2000s-mid-2010s, you may or may not be familiar with the original Barbie Movies (not the Greta Gerwig one!) Movies that retold classic stories and fairytales through the lens of the Barbie Universe. Besides the memorable characters and storylines, there was one aspect in particular that made these seemingly simple movies iconic to that generation- the music! Anyone who grew up watching these Barbie movies will instantly remember the classic, and enchanting soundtracks that the films have. A good dose of nostalgia at its finest. The ask of this petition? Being able to stream them! While there IS a “Barbie” profile on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, the only soundtracks available are mostly newer ones (2008-present). Those songs are massively enjoyable, but the rest of the franchise is missing (2001-2007). Yes, CDs and YouTube are an option, however, the ability to add the songs to playlists, stream in the car, and share with others more easily would be nice. I have already written to Mattel about the matter. They responded with the usual “we’ll pass the idea along.” Therefore, this petition is to get everyone who wants them involved. I hope that I can take this action a little further. Thank you everyone!
