Victoria Day flag rule doesn't make sense

This long weekend, Ottawa is telling federal buildings everywhere to fly the British flag. It's Victoria Day--National Patriots' Day in Quebec. Either way, it's a Canadian holiday, not a British one. Flying a foreign country's flag for our holiday doesn't make sense. Besides, the day marks the birth of the current sovereign of Canada--not of Britain. This flag rule confuses the two separate offices and countries. This petition would change that, and see federal properties fly the Canadian flag for this Canadian holiday. Makes sense, doesn't it? On this red letter day, do something patriotic and share this petition on your social networks. Let's send Ottawa a message that it ought to "Put the Canadian flag first".
