Heritage Minister can Put the Flag First before she leaves

The petition to Put the Canadian Flag First is addressed to two decision-makers: the Prime Minister and the Heritage Minister, either of which can change the flag rules to make sure the Maple Leaf comes first. Earlier this month, Heritage Minister Shelly Glover announced she would not run in the next federal election, expected to be this October. Ms. Glover can now act with boldness, where others running for re-election may seek to tread softly. Not that putting our national flag in top spot is controversial. In fact, we're hard-pressed to find anyone who disagrees. And the cost? Practically nothing. We join our voices in reminding the minister that she can yet make a difference before leaving Ottawa. At Glover's say-so, our beloved Maple Leaf could be flying in the position of honour in all places and at all times across this land. All it takes is a directive, but Glover must issue one before she leaves in six months.
