Put a Gender-Neutral Bathroom in Terrell/Holland Library at Washington State University

The Issue

Every day, queer students and faculty have to struggle with finding a gender-neutral bathroom. Luckily, there are gender neutral bathrooms everywhere and in all the main places people go, that is, except the library. The Main Libraries (Terrell and Holland) do not currently have a gender-neutral bathroom. People love the library because people can go there and study. It is an also an amazing space for introverts, which a lot of queer people are introverts. The library is also an extremely amazing place to study, however when you have to go, there's lots of bathrooms. However, none of them are gender neutral. For individuals that do not identify as a man or woman, this makes it extremely difficult, and it takes a toll on mental health. Gender nonconforming students would feel much safer having a gender-neutral bathroom in the library, because currently, the nearest gender-neutral bathroom is in the CUB, which is a long walk, especially If you are studying on the 3rd floor of Holland which is not very close to the CUB because you have to take the stairs/elevator and go down the weird maze that is the walkway between the Holland and Terrell Libraries, and then go through the tunnel that goes to the CUB, and after that you have to either go down or up a floor because that floor of the CUB does not have one. Having a Gender-Neutral bathroom in the library would make queer and gender-nonconforming individuals much more welcome to the space and would be able to read books, study, or even just relax freely without having to worry about there not being a Gender-Neutral Bathroom.
