Mercedes/AMG created cars with the MBUX NTG6.0 entertainment systems with a force-cropped 16:9 Apple CarPlay and Android Auto display on the 10.25” widescreen display. This was done for two reasons, to ensure support between cars with a smaller display, and also to provide space for the climate controls on either side of the display at all times.

For these cars that cost a premium, and when compared to much cheaper cars that manage to provide a full screen Apple CarPlay experience, it is simply unacceptable that Mercedes has not provided an update to these systems to remedy the display issue with the new scaling features that allow this to no longer be an issue.

NTG7.0 cars, such as 2024 models have fixed this issue, however Mercedes excuse that this is because of a hardware change is simply ridiculous, and does not in any way reflect the proposed design mentality of Mercedes Benz or AMG. 

This petition is to get Mercedes/AMG to finally take action for existing customers who have spent significant amounts of money, to uplift the experience with their entertainment systems to match the expectation of their purchase and provide a full screen CarPlay option for these models.

I personally spent $115,000 on my AMG A45S and whilst the car has been amazing, felt very disappointed that a brand that I have always felt was one for delivering only the best, has decided to cut corners and deliver a sub par experience for its customers.

The expectation is that Mercedes/AMG use their significant resources and capabilities to provide a fix to these systems and ensure a premium experience for owners, without throwing them to the side and fixing it only on new models.
