The Issue

Climate change is one of the most urgent threats facing Earth today. Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, entire species are going extinct, and natural disasters are devastating communities. That’s why we, a group of high school students, started the Project Earth Team.

We believe young people should be the ones to lead climate action, because we’re the ones who will live with the results of today’s choices. And schools must lead by example, as they have the power to instill values of environmental stewardship in each student and show that change must happen if we want a secure future. The stakes could not be higher.

In the past, we've worked with the Lafayette School District to help pass their first-ever Sustainability Plan. This year we helped the AUHSD to install “No Idling” signs at all four schools to reduce our collective carbon footprint. This is a wonderful first step for our district, and there’s much more we can do. Looking ahead, we want to work with the Acalanes Union High School District to make sustainability a priority.

Join us in asking the AUHSD to take stronger action on climate change. Your voice matters, because when students, teachers, and community members speak up, local leaders listen.

Sign this petition to help our schools become leaders in climate action and secure a healthier future for students today and for generations to come!
