Imagine buying a home in Boston with central AC but no heater, completely unprepared for the harsh winters. Now flip that scenario: buying in Texas with a heater but no AC which is useless during the long, scorching summers.

That’s exactly the situation here in Bluffview, Leander, Texas. Our community clubhouse a “luxury” amenity marketed to justify lot premiums from $20,000 to as high as $400,000  was built without air conditioning. It does have a heater, but in Texas, that’s like having a lifeboat in the desert.

Poorly insulated garage doors bake the interior to unbearable temperatures for most of the year. Many of our homes sold for well over a million dollars, purchased by families who trusted the builder’s promises of comfort and year-round usability. Instead, we’ve received an amenity center that is effectively unusable during peak Texas heat.

This failure to deliver an amenity that matches the premium price paid is unacceptable. Many homeowners purchased their homes remotely, trusting in your company’s representations about the quality and livability of the community. Instead, we face a space that does not meet basic standards for comfort or usability.

We call on you, the CEOs of Pulte Group and Taylor Morrison, to:

Immediately address and rectify the clubhouse climate control issues by installing proper air conditioning and improving insulation.
Provide transparency on how premium lot fees are being allocated toward community amenities.

Commit to delivering to homeowners regarding the quality and functionality of neighborhood facilities.
Homeowners deserve a clubhouse that can be enjoyed year-round without sacrificing comfort or safety. It’s time for your companies to take responsibility and make this right.

We, the homeowners of Bluffview, demand that the builders take accountability and deliver the amenity we paid for: a properly climate-controlled clubhouse suitable for all seasons, not just a few weeks in winter.

Sign this petition to hold Pulte Group and Taylor Morrison accountable and demand the all-season amenity center Bluffview homeowners deserve.
