Good evening dear melophile,
This email is going out to all 341 of you who have supported our liquor license application with the City of Boston's Licensing Board. After an unexpected delay of nearly 5 months, the Board has given us notice that they will be voting on Unrestricted Licenses tomorrow, 10am - 12pm, which includes our bid for The Listening Room.
They told us that "the advocacy that has happened from all our patrons has not gone unnoticed," and the leadership was thus urged to take a vote. In short, whether or not we get the license, you made this vote happen. Thank you.
This is huge for us. You might have noticed that our programming slowed down recently, and a big part of it is the administrative burden of these licenses. If we had a liquor license, the path to sustaining the Listening Room becomes clearer.
The voting is public and anyone is welcome to join and listen in--there's no public testimony, it's just listening, our favorite thing ;)
It's hard to say when exactly in that window we'd be voted on, as it is determined by the agenda of the meeting, and how quickly they move through it.
If you'd like to show interest/ support, please register for the vote here. On the final question, where they ask "Are you here for a specific agenda item or items? If so, which one(s)?", please say "New unrestricted on-premise all alcoholic beverages licenses, in support of Coffee Coffee LLC DBA Gracenote and The Listening Room"
This way if you are present at the meeting, or even if you don't show up, they'd know that TLR has continual support.
Thank you for all you've done already, and we hope we have common cause to celebrate with you soon. In the meantime, we hope the end of the year is treating you and yours well.
Sincerely,
The Listening Room & Gracenote
