On July 3rd, there was a fire out of the Scoresby Public Self Storage Facility. 

Some of us are still waiting to hear about our possessions, while others have been told that to get their salvageable items they need to pay. Some people have been quoted up to $8,400; a fee which is for a company they have hired to clean people’s salvageable items and including a cleaning fee for removal of any unsalvageable items. If we don’t pay them, they say they will throw out the people they have quoted’s belongings on September 13th.

We are asking for Public Self Storage to let us get our belongings out and waive the fee. Many of us have lost photos, important documents, furniture, keepsakes, sentimental items and for some; everything they own. We did not start this fire and we should not have to pay the costs of someone else’s mistake.
