Public recognition- Muslim Heritage Month/Cherry Hill, NJ

The Issue

To Our Neighbors and Friends,

As we approach a historic moment for our Cherry Hill community, we humbly seek your continued support to ensure the public proclamation of Muslim Heritage Month. This initiative reflects our shared values of diversity, inclusion, and community strength, fostering understanding and respect among all residents.

We were initially informed that this important proclamation was scheduled for December 30. However, we have recently learned that the office’s agenda for that day is full, and the proclamation will not be made publicly. This decision is deeply disheartening to our community, as it overlooks an opportunity to publicly recognize the vital contributions and presence of the Muslim community in Cherry Hill. A public proclamation is more than symbolic—it serves as an acknowledgment of our role as active and valued members of the community.

By supporting this petition, you are joining us in affirming the importance of:

Publicly recognizing and celebrating the contributions of Muslim Americans to our community.
Fostering unity and inclusion through visible and meaningful actions.
Ensuring that all members of our community feel seen, valued, and respected.

This effort is not just about the proclamation—it is about empowering voices and ensuring that every community has an equal opportunity to be publicly celebrated.

A public proclamation matters because it sends a clear message of belonging and shared pride to all of Cherry Hill’s residents.

We invite you to add your voice to this effort by signing this petition to call for the public recognition of Muslim Heritage Month as originally planned. Together, we can continue to build a community that uplifts and celebrates all its members.

Let’s stand together as Cherry Hill continues to lead by example in fostering inclusivity and celebrating the beauty of diversity.
