Greetings PO, SPO & PRS:
Happy New Year! Last year, your collective voice forced the Public Employees Federation (PEF) to investigate our request for a 25-year retirement plan.
This year, we’re seeking your continued support. We recently sent an email to PEF Parole Division 236 Council Leader, G. Lopez informing her that the best way for Parole Officers to obtain a NYSCOPBA 25-year retirement plan is for Parole Officers to join the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA).
This would be mutually beneficial for both PEF and Parole Officers. PEF would not be disrupted in its fight to Fix Tier 6. PEF would not have to utilize resources to obtain a NYSCOPBA 25-year retirement plan. And PEF would not have to extend a 25-year plan to other PEF members.
To show PEF that we mean business, we’re requesting that all Parole Officers, Senior Parole Officers and Parole Revocation Specialists stop paying union dues in solidarity until our demands are met.
If you agree with this update, please email Council Leader G. Lopez at G.Lopez@pef.org and let her know that “NYS Parole Officers Should Join NYSCOPBA.”
In solidarity,
New York State Parole Officers
