
For the past 6 months, President Spence and the PEF Executive Board have ignored our petition. As dues paying members, we are seeking to have open and honest dialogue with PEF regarding Parole Officers joining NYSCOPBA.
Recently, PEF allowed about 100 members at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport to leave the union and join 1199 SEIU (Service Employees International Union).
Since NYSCOPBA is an expert in law enforcement representation, and PEF is an expert in civilian representation, it makes perfect sense for Parole Officers to be represented by NYSCOPBA.
Moreover, Parole Officers would be in a far better position to obtain law enforcement parity with our brother and sister NYS Correction Officers if represented by NYSCOPBA.
According to the latest PEF contract update, contract negotiations are looking bleak. We have provided a video link below. It's time for PEF to do the right thing and allow Parole Officers to join NYSCOPBA.
