Neighbors to MTA: Take the Monster Poles Down and Bury the Lines Across the Main Line! Organization Hosts Community Gathering in Opposition of Giant Eyesores

Garden City, NY (July 25, 2020) –  ReVAMP (Resident Voters Against Monster Poles) will host a community gathering today at 10:30 a.m. at Strawberry Fields in the Village of Garden City to voice their opposition to the giant, unsightly 120-foot utility poles standing as the new backdrop for Strawberry Fields and for much of this suburban community that neighbors the Long Island Rail Road’s Main Line.

Join residents of Garden City and local elected representatives as they band together in a socially distant fashion to voice their opposition to the giant eyesores that now tower over their homes and backyards. ReVAMP was formed as a community organization dedicated to removing the monster poles that were constructed by the MTA’s contractor, 3TC, as neighbors remained in their homes during the COVID-19 shutdown. The group also is committed to preventing a similar situation from happening to other communities along the Main Line.
