As a parent at Queen Elizabeth School, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and inconveniences faced by Year 7 students due to the lack of adequate storage facilities. Recently, my child was affected when his PE kit bag, left in a designated "safe" area because there were no lockers available, went missing. The bag contained several expensive items that have not been returned, causing significant financial loss and stress.

This situation is not only frustrating but also entirely preventable. Young students carrying heavy backpacks throughout the day can lead to health issues such as back pain and posture problems. Moreover, the absence of secure places to store their belongings jeopardizes both personal and educational essentials, such as textbooks, stationery, and sports equipment.

Research has consistently shown that school lockers play a crucial role in providing a secure and organized learning environment. They can enhance the well-being and focus of students, as they no longer have to worry about the safety of their belongings or the discomfort of carrying all their materials around.

To address this growing concern, we propose the installation of lockers for Year 7 students at Queen Elizabeth School. Implementing this solution would not only safeguard personal property but also alleviate the burden on students, allowing them to concentrate more on their education than their belongings.

Installing lockers is a feasible and realistic solution to this issue. By collaborating with school authorities, parents, and community stakeholders, we can ensure that funds are appropriately allocated to secure the resources needed.
