SB381 - Assembly Appropriations this Wednesday

Thus from our California Alliance for Adoptees Rights Team.

 A quick note ahead of Wednesday’s Assembly Appropriations hearing:
 
Senator Wahab won’t be “presenting” SB 381, which means there won’t be testimony, including "Me Too" testimony. The committee has over 300 bills to get through, and she wants to respect their time.
 
This is a normal part of how these high-volume hearings work, not a sign of anything concerning. The large majority of bills will not be presented, they will just be sent over to the Suspense file. We expect the Suspense hearing to take place on August 13.
 
The hearing itself is still happening as planned. We’ll keep you posted as things move forward.
