Being required to live on campus at San Diego State University, I expect better accommodations for the hefty price we pay for housing. Currently, students are subjected to using flimsy 1-ply toilet paper that falls short of any reasonable standard. Not only does this necessitate using twice as much as we would with 2-ply, but it also turns into an economic inefficiency. 

Switching to 2-ply toilet paper is not merely a matter of comfort but also an economic and practical necessity. By using 1-ply, students are forced to use greater quantities, which does not save money in the long run. Additionally, having to use more toilet paper per visit takes up more time, leading to unnecessary delays in our academic schedules.

Providing 2-ply toilet paper is a simple change that would significantly enhance the quality of life for students living on campus. Universities across the country, including those less funded, understand and implement this basic standard for their students’ well-being. SDSU should be no exception.
