Help, please share: My cat Sheldon has been taken to Woodgreen Animal Shelter without my permission. I cannot find any information on him.
Read below my story:
I'm Danielle Bagnall, the owner of Sheldon, a Blue Scottish Fold cat that has been taken to Woodgreen Animal Shelter without my permission. Sheldon was taken in December, and there are photos online until March. I have only just found out that he is not at home with my family, as agreed and that my mother has passed away in April. I was not informed of anything and was not allowed to collect him, which constitutes the Theft Act 1968. Family members have previously threatened to take him away, which I'd be advised was not possible without my permission. If I'd been told Sheldon was at Woodgreen, I would have collected him myself, and he would be back with his loving owner.
Sheldon is the 2011 winner of the My Pet Super Star competition, runner-up in the Cute category out of 6000, and featured with me on the 3rd page of the Cambridge Evening News on Wednesday, 2nd March. I have years of photographs of us together, and a veterinary history stating that I'm the owner. Sheldon did not have a microchip, as I was unaware of changes in laws during 2024; due to being diagnosed with a health problem and suffering a mobility disorder, a lot of my evidence is from years ago.
Sheldon is now 16 years old as of February, and has spent an entire lifetime with me. He has been raised like a child, watching cartoons, enjoys wearing hats and bow ties, collecting toys, and has been the most important part of my life. I cannot stand living without him.
The last images I have seen of Sheldon are of him looking scared, alone and waiting in a shelter, neutered, watching out of a window for me. Knowing that he could have been taken by strangers who cannot provide him with the 16 years of love I have given him. He has experienced great loss already, and myself, as my father died in 2013. Sheldon is my only family left now that my mother has died. I want the last part of his life to be where he belongs. I do not want him to die without me.
