In what comes a sigh of relief for 'Savarnas' of Madhya Pradesh is the Act diluted by CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan by his twitter handle, which says that no special directive is required to the police to make investigation before arrest.
The decision came up all of a sudden before the congregation of Brahmin Mahakumbh to be held in Ujjain to protest against the SC/ST Act. In the past few days, there have been strong dissent among the 'Savarna' community of Madhya Pradesh over the revival of the Act. Black flags are shown outside the state's BJP and Congress headqaurters and also few frustrated public barged inside the bunglow of PWD minister Rampal Singh only to face police action. The Upper caste organisation like SAPAKS and Karni Sena are going strong in the state and is believed to injure the vote bank of BJP in the upcoming Assembly election.
SAPAKS led Hiralal Trivedi has termed the decision of CM Shivraj singh Chauhan as an eyewash to fool the Upper Caste. It is also believed that candidates from SAPAKS and Karni Sena would fight the upcoming assembly election to create more trouble for ruling party's election prospective.
Former CM from MP, Babulal Gaur has also backed the protest called by 'Savarna' saying , " No justice is done to General community, who helped BJP win elections. "
The most important issue is when the Act is revived overruling the decision of Supreme Court to gain sympathy of Dalit voters, why the Act is again diluted terming it gross misuse? If that is so, the Act shall not have revived and the best interest of the citizen was to remain status quo. This decision is purely a political agenda. BJP is terrified by the strong protest of Upper Caste and it has believed that their victory is not possible without supplement of fuel by 'Savarnas', after all we have been its traditional voters since the origin of Janta Party.
Mr. Modi and his company is playing the caste trump card again to divide the nation. The party wants to become sympathisers of both the community and we must know its game strategy before casting our vote.
Protest against SC ST Act has not remained state bound. Entire Hindi Heartland is burning in the fire. We demand a proper amendment in the revived Act to make compulsory investigation before arrest. Mere oral promise has no validity in enforcement of the decision. If at all Mr. CM is promising no arbitrary arrest, it has to be by an amendment or by an ordinance till the law takes effect. The decision is nothing but an eyewash. I request all of you to not to come to the terms of Mr. CM, apply your minds and protest strong untill the provision of automatic arrest is deleted in the Act.
Jai Hind!
