Request:

Protect the Ancient Sites and Global Heritages of IRAN

We, the undersigned, express our profound concern regarding the safety and preservation of the irreplaceable cultural heritage and ancient historical sites of Iran during ongoing and potential military conflicts.

Iran is home to some of the world’s oldest civilizations, containing invaluable archaeological sites, monuments, cultural landscapes, and architectural treasures that belong not only to the Iranian people but to the shared heritage of humanity. These sites represent thousands of years of human history, art, science, and cultural identity. Their destruction would constitute an irreversible loss to global civilization.

We recognize the complexities of modern warfare and the security challenges posed by armed groups, including members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). However, under no circumstances should cultural and historical sites be targeted, damaged, or destroyed, even if military actors misuse such locations for strategic purposes. The protection of humanity’s shared heritage must not be sacrificed as a means of eliminating armed forces.

We urgently call upon:

The armed forces of the United States Army
The armed forces of the Israel Defense Forces
to fully comply with international humanitarian law and cultural property protection treaties, and to pursue alternative strategies that prevent harm to historical and cultural landmarks.

Furthermore, we call on UNESCO and other international heritage protection bodies to take immediate and decisive action, including:

Emergency monitoring and documentation of threatened heritage sites
Diplomatic engagement with all parties involved in the conflict
Deployment of rapid-response cultural protection mechanisms
Public advocacy to prevent deliberate or collateral destruction
Cultural heritage transcends politics, borders, and conflicts. Once destroyed, it can never be restored to its original authenticity. Safeguarding these sites is a moral responsibility owed to past, present, and future generations.

We respectfully urge immediate international attention and protective measures to ensure that war does not erase the legacy of human history preserved in Iran.

دادخواست برای حفاظت از میراث فرهنگی و اماکن تاریخی ایران در زمان درگیری‌های نظامی

به: جامعه جهانی یونسکو و نهادهای مسئول

تقاضا : اقدام بازدارنده و سریع هرگونه حمله عامدانه یا غیرعامدانه به آثار باستانی و فرهنگی ایران 

ما امضاکنندگان این دادخواست، نگرانی عمیق خود را نسبت به ایمنی و حفاظت از میراث فرهنگی بی‌بدیل و اماکن تاریخی باستانی ایران در جریان درگیری‌های نظامی جاری و احتمالی اعلام می‌کنیم.

ایران میزبان کهن‌ترین تمدن‌های جهان است و مجموعه‌ای ارزشمند از محوطه‌های باستان‌شناسی، بناهای تاریخی، مناظر فرهنگی و شاهکارهای معماری را در خود جای داده است؛ آثاری که نه‌ تنها متعلق به مردم ایران، بلکه بخشی از میراث مشترک بشریت به شمار می‌روند. این گنجینه‌ها نمایانگر هزاران سال تاریخ، هنر، دانش و هویت فرهنگی انسان هستند و نابودی آن‌ها خسارتی جبران‌ناپذیر برای تمدن جهانی خواهد بود.

ما پیچیدگی‌های جنگ‌های معاصر و چالش‌های امنیتی ناشی از فعالیت گروه‌های مسلح، از جمله اعضای سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی را درک می‌کنیم. با این حال، تحت هیچ شرایطی نباید اماکن فرهنگی و تاریخی هدف حمله قرار گیرند، آسیب ببینند یا تخریب شوند، حتی اگر افراد نظامی از این مکان‌ها برای مقاصد راهبردی مانند اختفا سوءاستفاده کنند. حفاظت از میراث مشترک بشریت نباید به بهای حذف نیروهای مسلح قربانی شود.

ما فوراً موارد زیر را درخواست می‌کنیم: از

نیروهای مسلح ارتش ایالات متحده آمریکا
نیروهای مسلح  اسرائیل
که به‌ طور کامل به حقوق بشردوستانه بین‌المللی و معاهدات حفاظت از اموال فرهنگی پایبند باشند و راهبردهای جایگزینی را دنبال کنند که از آسیب به آثار تاریخی و فرهنگی جلوگیری کند.

همچنین، از یونسکو و سایر نهادهای بین‌المللی حفاظت از میراث فرهنگی می‌خواهیم اقدامات فوری و قاطع انجام دهند، از جمله:

پایش و مستندسازی اضطراری اماکن در معرض تهدید
تعاملات دیپلماتیک با تمامی طرف‌های درگیر در مناقشه
به‌کارگیری سازوکارهای واکنش سریع برای حفاظت فرهنگی
اطلاع‌رسانی عمومی برای جلوگیری از تخریب عمدی یا خسارات جانبی
میراث فرهنگی فراتر از سیاست، مرزها و درگیری‌هاست. اگر این آثار نابود شوند، هرگز اصالت اولیه خود را باز نخواهند یافت. پاسداری از این گنجینه‌ها مسئولیتی اخلاقی در برابر نسل‌های گذشته، حال و آینده است.

ما با احترام خواستار توجه فوری جامعه جهانی و اتخاذ تدابیر حفاظتی لازم هستیم تا جنگ موجب محو میراث تاریخ بشری در ایران نشود.
