Welcome to our Local Initiative Petition Form. This petition reflects a shared commitment to community safety and responsible recreation in Hermosa Beach. Our goal is to address the growing concerns surrounding the use of e-bikes by teenagers in our city and to create a safer environment for residents, visitors, and families.

In recent years, Hermosa Beach has seen a sharp increase in e-bike use among minors. While e-bikes can be a convenient mode of transportation, the lack of proper training, inconsistent supervision, and frequent disregard for traffic rules have led to serious safety risks. Many residents have reported near-collisions on the Strand, unsafe speeds on sidewalks, and daily hazards for pedestrians, cyclists, and small children.

Another growing concern is the way large groups of teens often ride together in packs. These groups frequently move through public spaces at high speeds, ignore right of way, and create an atmosphere that feels chaotic or intimidating to others. This pattern has raised significant worries about public safety, including the potential for confrontations, disruptive behavior, and an overall decline in the sense of security that our community relies on.

By supporting this petition, you are taking a proactive step toward reducing preventable accidents and restoring safe shared spaces throughout Hermosa Beach. Our initiative seeks to put stronger regulations, education, and enforcement measures in place for the use of e-bikes for teenagers.

Your participation is essential. When community members unite around a clear issue, we have the power to create meaningful change that protects everyone. Together, we can promote responsible transportation, preserve the walkability of our city, and uphold the safety of our beaches, parks, and neighborhoods.

Thank you for joining this effort. Your involvement demonstrates a commitment to building a safer, more mindful, and more connected Hermosa Beach for all residents and future generations.
