The Issue

Zodiac, a vibrant and iconic LGBTQ+ venue located in the heart of Camden, is more than just a venue; it is a cultural cornerstone for our community.

Founded by Trans woman and entrepreneur, Jade Phoenix, it is owned by the community, run for the community.

Ten shareholders - people who believed before there was a venue to believe in - put in over £280,000 in 2021 when it was still a Camden lease and a pandemic-era plan. £300,000+ has been raised for LGBTQ+ causes inside this building.

London has lost 58 per cent of its queer venues since 2006. This one is open.

The London Borough of Camden has long been known as a melting pot of music and culture, attracting both locals and tourists with its unique spirit.

Given the significance of Zodiac to Camden's cultural landscape, Camden Council should list it as an Asset of Community Value (ACV).

This designation would offer a layer of protection, ensuring that the venue cannot be closed or sold without the community having a fair chance to save it.

Listing Zodiac as an ACV would empower the community to have a say in its future, preserving an essential part of Camden's cultural fabric for generations to come.

By signing this petition, you are taking a stand to preserve our local LGBTQ+ culture and support an important local business.

Let's work together to ensure that Zodiac remains a vital and vibrant part of Camden for years to come. We have extensive support from Camden locals for this. Sign and share this petition to help us list Zodiac as an Asset of Community Value.
