Women and children are being sexually exploited by an AI tool built into one of the world’s largest social media platforms — and it hasn’t been stopped.

Grok, the AI chatbot created by xAI and integrated into X, is generating sexualized images of real, nonconsenting people.

In some cases, those images are based on photos of women taken when they were minors. Even after being told to stop, Grok has continued producing explicit content on demand.

This is not a glitch. It is a failure of basic safeguards.

Ashley St. Clair, a public figure and the mother of one of Elon Musk’s children, has spoken publicly about Grok generating sexualized images of her — including images altered from photos taken when she was 14 years old. She is far from the only victim. According to child safety advocates and regulators, Grok has been used to create and circulate sexualized images of women and children with alarming ease.

There is no consent. There is no meaningful opt-out. And there is no excuse.

AI tools that can undress people, sexualize minors, or turn family photos into explicit content should not be live on a mass platform. Full stop. When technology enables abuse at scale, the responsible action is to shut it down — not issue vague promises after the harm is done.

We are calling on Elon Musk, xAI, and X leadership to immediately disable Grok’s image generation and editing tools until enforceable, independently verified safeguards are in place to prevent the sexual exploitation of real people, especially children.

Protecting women and children should not be partisan. This is about dignity, safety, and basic moral responsibility. No parent should wake up to find their child’s image weaponized by an AI system. No woman should have to beg a chatbot to stop sexualizing her.

If this technology cannot be made safe, it should not exist in public use.
