I am a student at Uwe bristol on a technical course and UWE is starting th UWE Transformation project which will reduce 80% of technical staff in the product design course and university wide.
This means for us :
- Less workshop access
- Fewer specialists to learn from
- Longer waiting times to use necessary specialist equipment
- Increased safety risks
Technical staff and workshops are the most vital part of our experience at Bower ashton, It makes it the creative hub that it is, it would be atravesty to lose that. All the technical staff have to reapply for their jobs fighting for LESS THAN 20% of the current positions that exist. Digital fab is being reduced from 8 staff to 1
