Protect the Rights of Kanaka and Uphold Historical Treaties

Protect the Rights of Kanaka and Uphold Historical Treaties
The Issue
King Kamehameha III was instrumental in the creation of the Great Mahele, a land division that recognized the ownership of lands by the people of Hawaii. Every piece of land in Hawaii is already privately owned, and the Law of Nations should stand behind what is right and just. There should be no homeless Kanaka in our own country; fraudulent titles and illegitimate land claims need to be stopped immediately.
The history of our land is not just a tale of the past; it governs the present and influences the future of every Kanaka Maoli. The legal and historical truths of treaties between the Hawaiian Kingdom and the United States must be acknowledged and respected. Specifically, treaties made between multiple nations and King Kamehameha III, like that between him and U.S. President Zachary Taylor, contain commitments that should be upheld in the spirit of peace, love, and harmony. The U.S. Constitution in Article 6 clearly states that these treaties are the supreme law of the land.
It is also critical that the fraudulent claims to our land under the Great Mahele, which transformed land ownership tenets into titles of allodium, be recognized and corrected. The very essence of our land's sovereignty and its rightful ownership have been undermined by the incorporation of Hawaii as a territory and later a state. The "Territory of Hawaii" was not the crown, and the "State of Hawaii" a Coorperation cannot supersede the Hawaiian Kingdom Government.
Standing nation to nation with the United States in mutual respect is pivotal. There shall be perpetual peace and amity between the United States and the King, his heirs, and successors. To preserve this peace, the historical integrity of land ownership and the profound cultural heritage of the Kanaka Maoli must be protected.
I urge you to stand alongside us in safeguarding our rights and land from fraudulent claims and violations of historical treaties. Sign this petition to show your support for the Kanaka Maoli, and all those who swore an oath of allegiance to Ko Hawaii Pae Aina to protect the sacredness of our land, and to uphold peace and harmony between the nations.
