Written by Jane Britt. Jane Britt is a disability policy consultant who is deafblind and an NDIS participant.

Thank you for supporting and signing this petition.

For me, the NDIS funds the basics of everyday life:

·       Occupational therapy to make my home safe to move through and my kitchen sage to cook in.

·       Assistive technology so I can access information and print I cannot see.

·       Mobility training so I can move through my community safely with a cane.

These are not extras. They are what allow me to live an ordinary life.

They are what to allow me to live independently.

My condition is degenerative. I don't know what the future will look like for me. I know my need for supports will grow.

Like many others, I am now left asking whether these supports will still be there for me in the future?

What is framed as “savings” in the budget will be felt as loss, loss of support, independence and opportunity.

The NDIS was built on a promise: that reasonable and necessary needs would be met so people with disability could live ordinary lives.

Right now, that promise is at risk.

We need the Government to understand the real impact of these changes.

That’s why I am supporting this petition.

This petition is setting a new goal: 20,000 signatures! 20,000 signatures that we can share with decision-makers!

This is a chance to make our community heard when decisions are being made.

Can you please share this petition with others, with your friends, family and on your socials. We need everyone's help to hit 20k.

Because this isn’t just about funding.

What the NDIS funds is Reasonable. Necessary. Ordinary.

Share the petition to stop the cuts to the NDIS

Thank you

Jane Britt and PWDA
