PWDA warns NDIS changes risk leaving people without support

Hi everyone,

Thank you for signing PWDA’s Reasonable. Necessary. Ordinary. petition to protect the supports people with disability rely on to live everyday life.

Yesterday, Minister Mark Butler outlined the Government’s plans to reduce the growth of the NDIS. Following the announcement, PWDA raised serious concerns, warning the changes risk leaving people with disability without the supports they need to live ordinary lives.

PWDA is calling on the Government to provide clear detail and guarantees ahead of the Federal Budget on 12 May.

We are calling on all Members of Parliament to

  • Protect access to reasonable and necessary supports.
  • Rule out cuts to eligibility and plan funding.
  • Reject blanket caps that ignore individual need.
  • Commit to genuine co-design with people with disability.
  • Focus reform on fixing system inefficiencies, not cutting support.

Our call is reasonable. It is necessary. It is for the ordinary lives the NDIS makes possible.

Today, we ask you to please help strengthen this call by sharing the petition with your networks.

We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Learn about PWDA’s response to the announcement in our 22 April media release.

Thank you for your support,

People with Disability Australia
