Our beloved Northern Lights ABC School stands as a beacon of character education, academic rigor, and traditional teaching methods. Today, the integrity of our program is at risk. A lack of aligned leadership and consistent support from the Anchorage School District threatens to erode the very philosophy that makes NLABC unique, gradually shifting it toward a model that no longer reflects the expectations of our community.

NLABC was founded on clear pillars: strong character development, high academic standards, and a back-to-basics approach. Preserving this model requires not only district support, but also structural decisions that align with these values. This includes advocating for the removal of combination classes, which dilute instructional focus and compromise the consistency and rigor our students deserve.

Equally important is a shared commitment to accountability across all stakeholders including teachers, students, and families. Teachers must consistently deliver instruction aligned to standards and school philosophy. Students must be held to high expectations in both academics and character. Families must remain engaged partners in supporting the mission of the school. This collective accountability is essential to maintaining the excellence NLABC is known for.
