Planning Authorities, Developers and Ecologists have the responsibility to adhere to the National Planning Policy of July 2021.

If significant harm to Bio Diversity from a development cannot be mitigated or avoided Planning Permission should be Refused!

Badgers, Deer, Weasels Stoats and many more small creatures roam the banks of the stream,  fields and woods  of the Valley. Eels which travel from the Saragossa Sea reside in its pools, Brown Trout and many more small Aquatics. All forming an  eco-system the length of the Valley from the fields to the sea.Vegetation , wild flowers, all growing in and around the this stream .If the stream is depleted ,to fill the pond and keep it filled,  especially in summer months  this fragile system will be damaged irreparably. The pond directly abuts the stream and its crumbling banks are silting the gravel bed of the stream, which is essential for spawning. Water extraction will harm any aquatics trying to breed in the stream.

Buzzards , Sparrow Hawks, Kestrels, Peregrines and Owls inhabit this unique place. This summer we have had the privilege of observing a breeding pair of Buzzards rear their young in a tree adjacent to the pond. We are so privileged to live in such a beautiful place with its abundance of wildlife.

The Wildlife and Countryside  Act  of 1981   This legislation covers four areas. Wild Birds, their eggs and nesting, Protection of other animals such as Badgers, and protection of Plants.

Badgers are a protected species with the act of 1992. . It is illegal to Disturb , damage, or destroy a badgers Sett. Badgers reside close by to the pond.

Badgers are often seen in the Valley of an evening , wandering about their business. We have been very lucky to have the Government Vaccination Scheme of Badgers take place here . Exeter University is monitoring the results.

The petition has reached over 860 and we are aiming for 1000 . Keep those signatures coming in!! Thank you everyone  for participating in this battle to save the Valley.
