According to a study from The Trevor Project, 58% of transgender and nonbinary youth who desired hormonal interventions were unable to receive them in 2020. We must work to change these statistics and make essential healthcare accessible to all who need it.

Furthermore, creating gender-affirming safe spaces, including bathrooms, is vital for the safety and dignity of trans individuals. Everyone deserves a place where they can go about their daily lives without fear of harassment or discrimination. By establishing and protecting these safe spaces, we offer trans people the compassion and respect they deserve.

It's also essential that we uphold the privacy of trans individuals by not outing them against their will, whether they are youth or adults. The Human Rights Campaign has documented that trans people, especially youth, face a greater risk of violence and discrimination when they are outed without consent.

Additionally, society must protect trans identities by respecting their chosen names and pronouns. Misgendering and deadnaming are harmful practices that erase the identity and dignity of trans individuals.
