A proposed hyperscale AI data center is planned near Slavic Village.

These facilities are massive industrial developments that consume enormous amounts of electricity, water, and infrastructure resources. Across the country, communities are beginning to raise concerns about the long-term impact these projects can have on nearby neighborhoods.

Residents and supporters are concerned about:
• strain on local utilities and infrastructure
• pollution from large diesel backup generator systems
• heavy water usage
• industrial development near residential neighborhoods
• very few permanent local jobs compared to the amount of land and resources used
• and the lack of transparency and community input before projects are approved

Slavic Village has worked hard to rebuild and strengthen the community, and residents deserve to have a real voice in decisions that could affect the neighborhood for decades to come.

We are calling on Cleveland officials to stop the proposed data center development near Slavic Village and prevent large industrial AI infrastructure from being placed near residential communities.

Residents should not be expected to accept projects that could permanently change the character of their neighborhoods while providing limited direct benefit to the people who actually live there.
