Sazan Island is a protected natural area within the Karaburun–Sazan National Park, home to rare ecosystems and endangered species.

A large-scale foreign-backed development project, including hundreds of villas and tourism infrastructure, threatens to damage this fragile environment. Experts warn that such construction could cause irreversible harm to biodiversity and marine life.

We call on the Albanian government to ensure transparency, respect environmental protections, and stop or limit development that endangers this national treasure.

Sazan Island must be protected—for nature, for Albania, and for future generations.
