Dear supporters,

Thank you for supporting our community’s fight to save our water. I hope you all had a safe and happy Christmas. I have some exciting news to share with you all.

Please, continue sharing the petition so we can bring an end to commercial water extraction in drought.

We are a committed group of local residents and experts rallying together to alleviate problems in accessing water during this severe drought. Last month, we had a meeting with the Chief of Staff of Dr Anthony Lynham, the Minister for Natural Resources. We shared our concerns regarding overdrawing of water from bores and the unchecked movement of trucks, carrying more water than is permitted.

We presented our research and asked them to re-evaluate the benchmarks on which all water decisions are being taken, as rainfall patterns have changed over time. Our concerns were respectfully heard and they have promised to review all the information we provided. We have another meeting scheduled with the Minister and his team at the end of this month.

I am grateful to each one of you for putting your support behind our campaign. I look forward to sharing the results of the next meeting with you all.

Please, share the petition with your friends and families.

Thank you

Julie
