We met with the Office of QLD NRME to discuss this petition and received a very favourable response.   They are going to investigate the problem and meet again in mid January with a considered plan of action.

We were also accepted into the intake of cases which will receive the support of The Environmental Defenders Office.  We have asked for legal interpretation and enforcement of the Qld Water Act of 2000, suspending commercial water extraction during hardship.

This has been a very satisfying result which may lead to action required.
