The water crisis facing Mt Tamborine has reached a new low - The Tamborine Mountain state school has run out of water, while water miners continue sending millions of litres to the bottled water industry.

Teachers are advising parents to keep children at home so corporates like Coca Cola can satisfy their commercial greed. The local bores are running dry and our kids are suffering. What is even worse is that “now the government is buying water back from Coca-Cola to bring here, which is where it came from in the first place.”

Right now, we are facing a water emergency. The Queensland government must take immediate action to prioritise local water supply. In the long run, we need legal protection from commercial water extraction so we can conserve our precious local supply of water.
