The Issue

As a proud resident of Rossington, I am deeply concerned about the threats facing our cherished local countryside, including Pithill Farm. This land is not just an expanse of open fields; it is a part of our heritage, historically known as Littleworth and Mount Pleasant, and represents the agricultural essence of our community. This countryside, rich in history, plays an integral role in our lives, offering a quiet escape from bustling city life and a place for community bonding, reflection, and recreation.

Over the years, this land has provided sustenance and stability to countless generations and is home to diverse wildlife that deserve our protection. However, developers are eyeing this precious land as merely an opportunity for new developments, risking irreversible damage to our environment and undermining our collective heritage.

Current plans propose transforming these fields into modern developments, destroying our green spaces in the name of progress. While controlled development can be beneficial, it should not come at the expense of our irreplaceable countryside. We must ensure that development in Rossington is sustainable and respects our community’s needs and ecological balance.

We propose a plan that prioritizes the preservation of Pithill Farm and surrounding lands while meeting the developmental needs of Rossington in a sustainable manner. This includes:

1. Engaging with local councils and planners to advocate for sustainable development practices.
2. Collaborating with environmental experts to assess the ecological impact of any planned development.
3. Exploring alternative sites for development that do not compromise our green spaces.
4. Encouraging local residents and businesses to participate in conservation efforts.

Pithill Farm and the fields known as Littleworth  are more than just landmarks; they are a testament to our past and a promise to our future. By protecting this greenspace , we safeguard not only our environment but also the essence of what makes Rossington special.

Please join us in standing up for our countryside. Sign the petition to demand that our local government protects Pithill Farm and ensures future development is fair, sustainable, and considers the wishes of our community. Together, we can ensure Rossington remains a place where nature and progress coexist harmoniously.
