The Issue

To: U.S. Department of Defense & Members of Congress

We, the undersigned citizens, workers, veterans, and community members from across Texas, Arkansas, and the greater Four States Region, respectfully urge the Department of Defense & Members of Congress to preserve, protect, and expand the mission of the Red River Army Depot (RRAD)—a vital national asset for military readiness, innovation, and economic security.

WHY RED RIVER ARMY DEPOT MATTERS:

  • Strategic Military Value: Maintains and overhauls tactical military vehicles and equipment critical to the U.S. Army and our allies.
  • Proven Efficiency: Self-sustaining and revenue-generating, with scalable operations that meet military demand without burdening taxpayers.
  • Economic Impact: Supports over 3,200 direct jobs and contributes $1.6 billion annually to the regional economy, sustaining thousands more jobs and hundreds of millions in disposable income.
Innovation & Education: In partnership with Texarkana College, Texas A&M–Texarkana, and TexAmericas Center, RRAD leads in advanced manufacturing, 3D printing, and workforce training.
  • Community Investment: $32M invested in wastewater infrastructure, with broad public support for a $498M regional water project demonstrating deep local commitment.

OUR COMMUNITY COMMITMENT:

As our country advances the 2025 National Defense Strategy, we are fully committed to supporting RRAD’s continued role in securing our nation. Our community stands ready to meet new challenges and expand its mission with innovation, resilience, and patriotism. We urge the Department of Defense to protect and grow this vital facility—because America’s strength lies in places like Red River, and in the people who serve there with purpose and pride.

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, PETITION THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE & MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO:

✅ Sustain and expand RRAD’s mission and operations
✅ Oppose any actions that would reduce its workforce or capabilities
✅ Recognize RRAD as a strategic national asset and invest accordingly
