We plan to provide the school board with your comments on our petition as well as with our petition wording and signatures. Here are a couple of choice comments of many that we wanted to share with you! Remember to keep sharing the petition and talking us up this long, hot weekend.

Jennifer Hayes - "We need to support our teachers and librarians. Censorship and minority rule are dangerous! I attended BCSC and read whatever I wanted, voraciously. The book banners can monitor their own children. Having unqualified individuals set arbitrary "standards" for everyone is a step toward authoritarianism. We must resist! Thank you for starting this Adeline."

Zechariah Rarey - "The first amendment guarantees the right to free speech, which extends to authors and journalists. Book censorship has never been about to protecting the vulnerable, it's only about silencing the truth and the opinions that oppose those in power. Parents can regulate what children read simply by being involved. People have a right to access any and all information available to them without interference from a self righteous, willfully ignorant minority of people who refuse to recognize both the foundational rights of humans and the significance of the proposed censorship of select information."

We are currently at 1,079 signatures. Let's keep going! Many more and media attention will be garnered!
