This haunting reality is becoming all too commonplace in Kosciusko County with the deployment of Flock and Axon surveillance cameras. As residents of this community, we must voice our concerns and protect our fundamental right to privacy.

Flock and Axon cameras, currently utilized by local authorities, have unprecedented access to our personal lives. These surveillance systems capture expansive video and facial recognition data, providing extensive visual coverage of public and sometimes private spaces. With little transparency or community input regarding their implementation and use, many of us feel violated and vulnerable.

Statistics show that while these surveillance tools promise increased safety, there is little evidence they significantly reduce crime. Instead, they often serve as a means for indiscriminate data collection, potentially leading to misuse of information. The Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures. Allowing these cameras to operate unchecked undermines this protection, giving the government unwarranted oversight into our lives without sufficient cause or judicial review.

The situation demands immediate action to safeguard our privacy rights. We propose that the Kosciusko County Council. 

1. Halt the expansion of any further Flock and Axon surveillance installations until a comprehensive review is conducted.

3. Ensure transparency through public forums and discussions before any additional surveillance measures are approved.
4. Provide avenues for public comment and objections to be addressed in the decision-making process.
