If you've spent more than 5 minutes in Sanford, you've likely heard the name, Ms. Jenny, and she needs our help!

The decision not to reappoint Ms. Jenny, a dedicated performing arts teacher and last year’s Teacher of the Year, has raised serious concerns among students, families, and community members. For 11 years, Ms. Jenny has been a cornerstone of our school, building a thriving performing arts program that gives students a place to express themselves, grow in confidence, and feel a sense of belonging.

Her impact extends far beyond the classroom. Ms. Jenny has consistently gone above and beyond to support her students and their families, creating a safe, inclusive environment where creativity and personal development are nurtured. She has been a mentor, advocate, and role model to countless students, many of whom credit her with shaping their academic and personal success.

The performing arts program she leads is not just an elective—it is a vital part of our school community. Removing a teacher of her caliber and commitment risks undermining years of progress and depriving current and future students of meaningful opportunities in the arts.

We believe that decisions affecting our students’ education should reflect the values of excellence, stability, and community. The non-reappointment of a respected, award-winning educator with over a decade of service calls those values into question.

We urge the Seminole County School Board to reconsider this decision and reappoint Ms. Jenny, so she can continue the important work she has devoted herself to for more than a decade.
