We shouldn't be afraid to go to school. Though it's not always the case at the moment, every student has a right to feel safe in their classrooms. It's time for us to say enough is enough since school shootings have become much too frequent.

We need to protect our schools, our teachers, and most importantly, each other. Changes that can actually have an impact are being called for in this petition. What we are asking for is:

-Stronger background checks on everyone attempting to purchase a firearm

Restricting access to lethal weapons, such as assault rifles

- More mental health resources for students in need in schools Increased security in schools to stop shootings before they occur

 - Initiatives that strive to put an end to violence before it begins

This is about keeping us safe, not about politics. We cannot continue to do nothing but watch as more lives are lost. We need to come together and demand change because we are capable of bringing about it.
