Protect our future: reject the 100-meter rule for Aravalli Hills

Protect our future: reject the 100-meter rule for Aravalli Hills
The Issue
Title: Protect Our Future: Reject the 100-Meter Rule for Aravalli Hills!
Live and let live ....
Target: The Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC)
"I am a student and a young citizen of India. I am writing this because the Aravalli Hills—the oldest mountain range in the world and the 'green lungs' of North India—are under immediate threat due to a new legal definition.
On November 20, 2024, a decision was accepted to define 'Aravalli Hills' only as landforms over 100 meters high. Research shows that 90% of the Aravallis are lower than 100 meters. This means that almost the entire range will lose its 'forest' status and be handed over to mining and construction.
Why this matters to my generation:
Desertification: Without these hills, the Thar Desert will expand into Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and Gujarat worsening the pollution and causing severe threat the people and beloved living Being
Water Crisis: The Aravallis are our primary groundwater recharge zone. If they are mined, our future water supply disappears. Also in situation of drought the Aravalli already helped the neighbouring village and the state tackle it and save the state .
Now it's our time to save them.
Toxic Air: These hills are our only shield against dust storms and rising air pollution. Without them you as an a adult and your children will probably need to carry a oxygen tank everywhere you go.
Our Demand:
We, the citizens and future of India, urge the MoEFCC to withdraw the 100-meter height criteria. We demand a definition based on ecological continuity, not just height. Every inch of the Aravallis, regardless of elevation, must remain protected as 'Forest Land' to ensure a livable future for us."
Or else the We would be standing too close to our destruction .
